Présentation

In response to the growing challenges of wellbeing and mental health in schools, teachers are now expected to foster not only academic learning but also essential psychosocial competences in their students. Yet how can these competences be taught in a concrete way, without overloading curricula or relying on complex programmes?
Developed as part of a large international research and training project, this book offers a practical, evidence-based approach to positive education in schools. Drawing on the ACTIONS framework developed by Professor Ilona Boniwell on the basis of extensive meta-analyses in positive psychology, it provides teachers with a clear, flexible and immediately usable toolbox.
Each chapter presents short interventions, full lesson plans and whole-school actions, suitable for all levels of compulsory education and directly aligned with transversal competences in Swiss curricula. An accessible theoretical introduction explains the scientific foundations of positive education and wellbeing development in schools.
Written by and for education professionals, this book supports teachers in integrating wellbeing and psychosocial competences into their everyday practice, fostering learning environments that are calmer, more effective and more humane.
